Where: Antaragange, Kolar, Karnataka When: 13th March, 2016 Number of riders: 14 Type: Bike riding, Caving, Hiking, Trekking Bikes: Avenger, RE Classic 500, RE classic 350, Electra, Pulsar Distance:  70*2 = 140 kms Before I start, let me tell you that this bike ride was particularly special as it was my first with 'The Bikerni'- India's first and largest all female motorcycling association. The Rider Gang. PC: Nikhila Krishnamurthy I wasn't even sure about riding 150 Kms at all as I was unwell since a week before the ride; juggling between doctors and office cubicles and completely off gym and exercise for the whole week. I had barely touched my bike that entire week. But, all thanks to the constant motivation from my husband who gave me a long 'now or never' monologue, I decided I just had to go. 'Try riding to the meeting point, meet everyone and come back if you still feel unwell', he said to me. Feeling anything less than happy and...

Bangalore- Dhanushkodi on two wheels! :)

Image
It all started as a very random plan to celebrate new year's evening. For the sheer lack of better alternatives to kick in the new year with a blast, I and a group of friends got together and started looking up for places to ride to; and in no time, a plan to ride to Dhanushkodi was up. Here are some minor details of the plan: Route: Bangalore>>Salem>>Dindigul>>Madurai>>Rameshwaram>>Dhanushkodi Distance: 620 Km Number of riders: 3 Riders, 1 Pillion Bikes: 3 RE Thunderbird Trip Duration: 3 days (31st December, 2015 - 2nd January, 2016) The Route My riding gear was ready and the bike serviced a day before, the 30th. We wanted to call it an early night for the big ride ahead. Invariably, sleep gave me a miss, just like before any other ride. Adrenaline plays it's part well, this time too without fail. So, On a bright Thursday morning, we all took a day off work and started from Bangalore on 31st December at 7:00 AM to our destination....

What Diwali Brings Back to me...

This blog post is very dissimilar to all the blog posts here till date. I am only writing this post to share a personal incident that necessarily springs back to me every Diwali, or in the days nearing it to be more appropriate as and when I start hearing the sound of firecrackers bursting, just like the time when I am penning this down. The year was 2005, I was in grade 10. Every Diwali, my father would come home with huge assorted boxes of firecrackers for me and my siblings, which back then, we really enjoyed ourselves with. That year, there was something very uncommon and highly uncharacteristic that my school did before Diwali. Something that i had not even thought of in my so called 12 years of formal education until then. The school tried  (I do not know how successfully, given everybody's attraction towards those assortments and crackers) to organize an Anti- Firecrackers campaign. My first reaction was - "the same old anti-pollution lessons". I really thought...

Nine Companies every MBA exemplifies to exaggerate answers in exams!

This struck me while writing an exam this morning. Trust me, every MBA student will need these to make a 5 mark answer look like a big long 10 marker. MBA exams are all about this. There are a handful of concepts and there are numerous situations you need to apply these to. Here is my account of what I quoted in each trimester of MBA, in those 50 courses if I must mention. Although, I do admit that this is purely my personal discretion, as is every answer in an exam you write. Microsoft Corp : This is a life saver for any plus you want to support with an example. Be it valuation, growth, management leadership, cloud computing, technological advancements, IPOs and stock splits this is a Godly company to save you in an exam. This exceptional performance can be attributed to 'disintegration' of value chain , establishment of a 'de facto standard' and cornerstoning.              Apple Inc. : always for Innovation, competition and distinctive ad-campai...
